A robust colonial brown ale brewed from notes passed down from brewers operating in America during the early 1800's. Toasted malts give this beer a pronounced toasted flavor and rich full body.

On tap at Rohrbach Brewing in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a fairly pleasant looking golden brown color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells toasty, with some caramel, breadiness, and a touch of spice.
I remember when this beer was made by Custom Brewcrafters, so it’s nice to see it live on with Rohrbach. It’s fairly basic, but well done. It’s got a nice toastiness but not too much malty sweetness, with a tiny bit of herbal and spicy hop bitterness on the back end.
This is semi thin, but very drinkable, and slightly creamy on the finish.
This is definitely better than when it was made by Custom Brewcrafters.
