This pitch black small batch comes from the mind of our esteemed canning line wrangler, Brian. Big additions of flaked oats, chocolate malt, caramel malt, and roast barley create a silky and sweet malt profile of roasted coffee and caramel. The beer was conditioned on Fuego Bear Claw coffee beans and cacao nibs, creating a finish reminiscent of sweet caffe mocha. After aging in Kentucky Bourbon barrels for 3 months, the charred oak imparted flavors of vanilla and boozy warmth.

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells a bit like caramel and chocolate, but mostly stale and over-roasted coffee.
This just tastes very stale – it’s a few years old and really hasn’t aged all that well, unfortunately. The coffee notes are peppery, vegetal, and just weirdly fruity, with a stale astringency that just doesn’t work. There’s also basically no barrel character on this.
This is light bodied and pretty thin, with a papery thin and dry finish.
This did not work in really any way, unfortunately.
