neat that they call this a pale ale as a base beer, its blonde and easy and without a ton of hops, so could have fooled me as a blonde on the more robust side of the style, but taken as a pale i think its a little more unique. this place is cool, huge tap lineup but only a handful of their own, one of the many upstart nano operations in this part of the world, cool model. the apricot in this is forward in the aroma, natural enough, and rounded out with decently sturdy pale barley, modest residual sugar, and some northwestern hops that stay out of the way but give it a bit more personality than the standard fruited yellow fare. the taste has nice balance, is apricot forward without being cloying, although does have a sort of preserved intensity about it, the hops equal it out on the swallow but are there and gone pretty quick, and the grain is supportive, i think the recipe overall is solid, the concept excellent, and the execution a little bit amateurish, like there are some easy technical improvements to make to this, it wouldnt fly from a larger craft operation, but its also neat to try what i hope is a work in progress, and i am rating it accordingly. barriers to entry should be small, this is the kind of thing i want to support and that i want to succeed. small timey but flavorful and distinctive. nice folks in here too!
