0.5L German bottle with a cartoon picture of a German soccer player scorring a goal. Lupfer appears on a swirl of air that trails the ball so I suppose lupfer is a looping shot? Anyway, it also says Fur die Umwlt MEHRWEG. Best before November 11th 2006 on the back with a message that says unsere Bierspezialia't zur Fussball WM (World Cup) 2006 ist ein naturtru'bes Kellerbier. Ok, so it's a Kellerbier at 4.9%abv. On to the good part. Thick white head didn't last past the intial bottle examination. Faint golden beer almost looks like a radler, and it has plenty of carbonation swarming through the middle. Aroma is of pungent hops that are almost fruity. It has a decent malt backbone that would is surprising based solely on color. The flavor is interesting. There is an almost fruity (peach/apricot) flavor that never really materializes due to the strong rush of carbonation. Finishes with a mild, full-bodied bite. Nothing bad, nothing great. Since this appears to be a limited offering I suppose it's not a big deal if I really like it.
