This beer pretty much fit the Weizenbock description except it's a beefed up Hefe Weizen and not Dunkel Weizen. Poured a huge pillowy white head that faded slowly pulling a thick rim of lace with it. Murky golden beer looks a bit darker then a HefeWeizen. Banana and clove in the aroma along with a bit of malt, but no citrusy element. It's a Weissbier Bock and from what I see and smell it looks like a beefier version of a Hefe Weizen. Fluffy soft mouthfeel is solid. Yeasty banana at first. A swell of clean maltiness takes over midway through and continues into the finish where there is just a hint of bitterness. Alcohol is fairly well hidden and only evident long after the beer is swallowed. A nice beefed of Hefeweizen with some elements of a Bock. They could strike it rich if they labeled it an Imperial Hefeweizen and shipped it to the US.

From the half liter bottle, it pours a hazy amber with a nice head that rapidly dissipates - faster than a normal weissbier, but slower than most bock biers I have seen. Some scent of the traditional weissbier fragrances, but not overwhelming. Taste is also weissbier-ish, enjoyable and not overly sweet!

Coming in a 500ml slim brown bottle, BB 20/12/08, served chilled in a pint-size weizen glass.

A: pours a dark orangey amber hue, murky, coming with a fluffy and hissing white pillowy head on top of rather mild carbonation. Looking like a bock based much more on hefe-weizen than anything remotely related to a dunkel-weizen.
S: like a weizen bier, the aroma upfront is sour banana-ish as well as slightly mango-ish; also at presence is a whiff of caramelised sugar, dried fig, and a faint floral hint. A good swirl gives rise to a much more pronounced estery edge like banana oil! Overall, the aroma is not VERY pronounced or bold, but never unpleasant.
T: upfront come lactose drink, wheat malts, lightly caramelised sugar, and banana-ish esters... followed by a slightly herbally bitter aftertaste as well as a very faint clove-ish spiciness, just like a weizen should be, albeit with an extra touch of rounded sugary taste. The finish comes mildly but lingeringly bitter as witness of the good amount of hops used, while sour-sweet fruitiness and mango-flavoured bubble-gum also seem to echo the consistency of yeastiness as in a true hefe-weizen.
M&D: slightly too sharp in terms of carbonation but it tastes quite natural, on top of a medium body and a generally approachable flavour. This is the first pale weizen-bock that I've come across, and personally I'd prefer to kill my after-work hours with its darker cousin a bit more...
