Clear, golden pour with a medium white head. The aroma leans on corn and light malt, backed by a touch of herbal character. The flavor follows suit: malty and moderately sweet, with a thin, slightly watery body—but that’s pretty much what this style promises. Simple and ultimately drinkable.

Very earthy tasting. Not much head and has a clear yellow color. Smells like a sour fart

Virtually no head,, bubbles that seem more fitting for sparking water than beer. Overall super syrupy n sweet,, very oily mouthfeel. Better than most macros but would not choose this over some other local AAL options

I’m rating this based on execution of the Mexican lager style and the quality of the beer itself. A Mexican lager is a simple drinkable beer and they have executed it very well. You can easily appreciate the higher quality organic ingredients and the flavor from those come through nicely. Squeeze a lime into it. Make a michealada. Drink it right out of the can. You’re in good hands!

Six pack of cans. Best by date on can: 09/19/23
Pours a crystal clear golden copper in color with a thin layer of bubbly head. Not much lacing as you drink. Carbonation looks a big strong, the big bubble kind. Pretty typical look for the style.
Sweet grains, perhaps some corn, lemon and grass comprise the bulk of the aroma, however there is also a roasted maltiness in the background that reminds me a bit of Fat Tire. An almost quintessential "beer" aroma, though the roastiness was a bit unexpected.
Lemon, grass and corn up front with a bit of spice and the roastiness coming in towards the swallow. Adjunct cereal grains throughout. Lemon rind and cereal grains linger on the tongue after the swallow. This definitely falls on the Vienna lager side of the Mexican lager style. Quite a lot of flavor, which the slightly higher ABV hinted at. However, I'm not a huge fan of the adjunct flavors.
This one is on the light side of medium bodied with big carbonation, almost seltzer-like. I'm not a fan, it's too carbonated for me. However, I will note that this one drank slightly better out of the can than poured. The finish is crisp and dry but oddly it does coat the tongue a bit, perhaps due to the slightly higher ABV. That does make it a bit less sessionable, for me anyways, although it remains very drinkable.
Well, this is the first beer I've seen from this brewing company. I must admit this style is not a staple in my rotation, though I do enjoy it on occasion when it's hot. What piqued my interest was the fact that this is a local, organic brewery, seems like the only one in the state so far. Huge kudos for that. It seems this is their first release of about a half dozen to follow, so I'm curious to try some of their other stuff. I probably wouldn't seek this one out again myself, but it's a fine beer if offered one on a hot day. Cheers!
