One finger head and light lacing. Quite piney in nose and taste with some fruitiness. I'm detecting a bit of a metallic taste that's vague, but reminds me of when west coast style IPAs are both too dry and too bitter, perhaps a residual astringency from the bittering hops, I'm not totally sure. Anyway it's not bad but it's not going to be one of my top IPA choices.

Poured into a Stone Gargoyle flute. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a one finger white head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, piney hops, sweet corn and a little citrus and hay. Flavor is biscuit malt, piney hops, moderate sweet corn adjunct and mild citrus and grassy hops. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A old fashioned style IPA with pine and a hint of citrus hops; leans in the West Coast tradition. Hops are not complex, but a satisfying bitterness and nice pine and malt aftertaste. Nothing earthshaking, but a decent biscuit malt IPA, which is a style I miss.

Found at the whole foods down the street. Bright, light gold color with a head that fades nearly immediately. Aroma is malty, with some pine resin malt. Moderate bitterness up front, with light piney hop flavor. Good malt character. Moderately dry finish. Drinkable enough, but feels like an IPA circa 1993 or so, when we barely knew what IPAs were and brewers didn't want to offend any tastes. I liked it well enough, but it's pretty plain.

Pours a clear amber with long-lasting foam in the Frydenlund nonic. Aromatic with canned peaches plus orange and lemon peel. The taste is quite rich with some malty sweetness and bold flavors. Lots of citrus, from tangerine to grapefruit plus the peaches. Massively fruity after some sipping. Then the woody and musty tastes in the finish. Quite bitter aftertaste grows. Overall this is borderline drinkable but certainly the hops are on the harsh side. From the 19.2 oz can purchased at a West Coast supermarket. "Best By" date not legible.
