Bremer Brewing Company

Located in a corner building along a main street and next to a river. Outdoor patio on the side adjacent to the river. Indoor room is divided, with an L-shaped bar and a couple of hightop tables on one side and more of a dining area with booths and low tables on the other. Windows fronting the street, exposed brick walls, some wood trim, and a wood slat floor. Two TVs showing sports. View of brewing equipment through windowed doors to the side of the bar. About fifteen taps with a selection covering most styles - IPA, lager, cream ale, red ale, wheat ale, brown ale, stout, kettle sour, and a couple of barrel aged brews. Flights and a choice of serving sizes are available. Cooler has cans and bottles to go. Down home and friendly staff. Food is available and prepared on site. Low key and welcoming spot in a small Iowa city.

This is a small brewpub in downtown Waverly, visited on a fairly quiet weekday afternoon. There were a few patrons in the rather small bar area, and the adjacent dining area was empty. I ordered a flatbread pizza and a couple of beers from the 15 or so tap offerings. The food and beers were excellent, and the wait staff were very friendly and shared some recommendations. There is an outdoor patio that is dog friendly, and the brewery offers free treats (house-made from spent grain) for your four-legged companions. They boast locally-produced ingredients in their food and drink offerings. Overall, this place is a gem. I'm taking the doggo with me next time, though.
