SUCCESSION Fermentory, LLC "Sheaf & Shield, IV"
16 fl. oz. can; coding is illegible. Sampled on 09/03/2023
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a kellerbier brewed with Vienna and rye malts, and hopped with Triumph. It's poured a hazy amber color beneath a short head of white foam. The spiciness of the rye is evident in the aroma along with toasty graininess from the Vienna malt. The flavor follows. It's sweetish, toasty, grassy, gently spicy, softly fruity, a touch earthy, and backed by a firm bitterness that leads to a dry finish. The body is medium and it's gently crisp with a fine-bubbled carbonation. The malt is the star of the show here, yet it remains nicely balanced by the spiciness of the rye and bitterness. It's interesting, and charming.
