Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a two finger white head good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale and lightly caramel malt, citrus and grassy hops, orange, lemon and grapefruit. Flavor follows with pale malt, citrus and grassy hops with a little pine, grapefruit, lemon, mixed fruit and pine developing into a lightly resinous pine and citrus rind finish; nicely bitter. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. The aroma is a bit subdued, but the flavor has well balanced citrus and pine with some light noble hop grassiness. The finish is is more assertive, but well supported by the malt and has a West Coast style lingering pine and citrus finish. I liked this better than expected, since the Mexican lager from Norte was fairly laid back and unassuming.
