Pours an effervescent mahogany with fast falling tan head. Viscous, some lacing, zero head retention
S: Tons of Bourbon Barrel, figs & Candied fruit, chocolate & coconut once warmed up
T: Follows the nose, leafy hops, chocolate, vanilla & coconut, a little booze bite up front. I am certainly getting the German Chocolate Cake aspect, albeit a boozy cake, Bourbon is all over this beer as it warms up. Finishes a with Bourbon Soaked Choclate, coconut & vanilla
MF: Pretty chewy, low carbonation, pretty warming
Great BA Stout, flavor profile is in totally in my wheelhouse, easy to drink for the heft

10oz snifter at the brewery
The regular Nachzehrer was quite sweet. This barrel aged version seems to balance the sweetness a bit.
Black color, oil like consistency.
Coconut dominates the aroma and taste with dark chocolate following suit.
You taste and feel the 15% ABV but it's works with the flavor profile.
Had to take a bottle home!

Flight pour on release day - Pour is black without much head, but it's a taster, so...
Nose is super coconut forward with notes of chocolate and roast/barrel.
Flavors are similar to nose, heavy coconut with everyone else scrambling to catch up.
Finish carries more spirit/barrel, body is approaching thicc.
