Ruby brown color which barely allows light to pass the center of the glass. The minor head ends up being a fine film on the surface. Some thinner streaks remain on the glass.
There’s alcohol and malty sweetness to the nose. No Belgian yeast notes but it’s still attractive.
A bit thinner than the Belgian versions and no yeast notes but otherwise the taste fits the profile well. Good alcohol warmth but the under-fermented malt provides a sugary presence expected. There’s a good bit of over-ripe banana on the tongue. Not as rich as many Dubbels but the lower carbonation compensates for this.
