Reddish copper in color and clear. Bitter yet malty. Well balanced beer from the old country.

Poured from the can into a pokal style glass.
Copper and nearly ruby red with excellent clarity. Some notes of middle rising carbonation, but not excessively. A fairly white surprising heat, if muted but not getting into khaki. Manages just under two fingers in height, and leaves a good bowled crown.
Clean aroma, slightly phenolic but goes a bit more fruity if not distinguishable in the fruit realm. Slight touch of caramel and with some warmth a bit of smally cherry and even wood like tone peaks out.
Palate goes for basics, but seems to have some quirks. Clean finishing, fairly neutral in the mid palate, with a good touch of almost rocky mineral water mouthfeel and flavor on first sip. Finish is exceptionally dry, but also touching a little burnt and scorched flavors, with a pronounced bitter and tannic quality. Light touches of chestnut and baked dark grain after awhile.
This isn't too bad, I just think it needs a little tweaking to be real solid.
