A new bar that has opened in the spot that used to be a real dive bar. Much like D&T they updated and added more beer taps. Though they didn't keep the name as D&T did, so its now just Heights Drive Inn. Walking in, its surprisingly bigger than expected. A long bar to sit at with some tables spread out. Plenty of pub games, like pool and shuffle board. A mix of more modern and classic rock playing over the speakers from the internet jukebox, that isn't too loud, just a few TV's. It hits the good balance of fun things to do, or watch, without being intrusive if you don't want to partake in any of that. Also, a big outdoor area in the back, with plenty of shade. Service was very good, the bartender was a sweetheart and seemed to know her stuff. On top of beer they have an extensive cocktail list.
Anyway, on the beer front. About 15 taps. That ranges from a few Saint Arnold taps. Looks like one is Art Car, the other is the seasonal. Live Oak Hefe, Yellow Rose, Holler Dollar Pils, some Great Heights, even some Equal Parts. Mostly locals with a varied selection, which is not all IPAs Even a few things like Boulevard Tank 7. Just a few macros. About $6 for a pint for most things, on a weekend. Don't know what they do for happy hour, but seems reasonably priced.
This hits that good balance with all things. Depending on the time, and what you want to do, can be rowdy, can be a quite spot, or can be that place to go to watch a game. All in a spot with a lot of character, which seems to be missing in a lot of places opening these days. A quality, but not over done tap list will keep me satisfied as well. I'll be here more often.
