A historical beer brewed around Liege,Belgium, based primarily on Spelt malt. This beer was considered a healthy and esteemed beer. Spelt is considered a heirloom wheat malt, mostly used for breads, but found favor around 1690 for beers around the city of Liege. In addition unmalted wheat and pilsner malts were used to make this beer. The use of noble hops, Hallertau Mittlefruh adds a sweet, earthy and herbal element to the beer.
