500ml bottle. 4.1% ABV.
L: Clear, copper colour with golden edging. Beautiful colour but the few stray bubbles rise to a thin head that disappears almost instantly.
S: Light malt and brown sugar.
T: Sweet, caramel flavour and a zip of something citrusy. Bitterness is very low.
F: Clean & smooth mouthfeel. Coats the mouth evenly. Finish is almost dry.
O: A highly approachable, easy-drinking Cheshire golden ale. Sweet malt and hops chosen more for flavour than bittering. Probably better on draught but also enjoyable from the bottle.

Gold it’s called and gold it is in body clear and good multi sized bubbles make a most respecatable crowning pure white head.

Rich on the nose filling the air like a seaside sweet shop with aromas of proper diary fudge and buterscotch with notes of melon.

Big malts on the taste front screaming out cookies more than Sesame Street’s big blue monster ever did, quite sweet with minimal bitter aftertaste (it is their but really, really subtle) There is fruit there but not heavy hitting.

An easy drinking in pretty much all senses with mid ranged mouthfeel, mid ranged carbonation and decent if inoffensive tastes summarises Chesire quite well then.

Brown 500ml bottle, best before July 2011, drank and reviewed 7 Mar 2011. The label claimed 4.1%ABV.

Poured into an 'Old Speckled Hen' badged pint vase: Light amber, semi-golden body, tight white head on top. Clear and showing a few bubbles rising towards the head.

Mini citrus hop smell, not too much of anything, but definated hints of citrusy hops, especially as the beer warmed (rear label suggests below 12 degrees C as the correct serving temp).

Easy to drink and refreshing, the taste has a citrusy bitter feel to it, not overly bitter, but with a bite non-the-less. A pleasant beer rather than a mind blowing experience that'll change my life.

Tasted by a half pint at the Swim Inn, a JDW pub in Sheffield, on 21/05/07. Served by a handpump w/ a sparkler.

A: coming in an amber hue w/ a little chill haze, while the off-white head retains a tight and creamy texture; low carbonation.
S: hop resins and a lightly citric fruitiness of Goldings-like hops come with coarsely-crushed grainy malts. Simple and nice.
T: surprisingly, a rather earthy, leather-ish, stinky, and nutty edge of hops leads towards a deepening maltiness and a touch of longan-fruits (on shells); quite dryish bitter in the aftertaste, with an almost peanut-like aroma of malts filling the palate. The finish sees both lingering biscuity malts and earthy leafy hops.
M&D: very smooth in carbonation and light-bodied; this is yet another easy-drinking and lovely Blond Bitter with a rather pleasant edge of super-light maltiness to entertain one's palate.
