Nearly clear amber brew with abundant foam in the Tripel Karmeliet tulip. Smells of rising dough plus lemon sugar cookies with clove in the nose. The flavor is full of the spice and banana with the clove dominating. It's mildly sweet with a welcome tangy finish. There is an odd lemony aftertaste. Light and sudsy in the mouth. Overall this is a creditable version of a Hefeweizen. From the16 oz can purchased at the Co-op market. Dated 3/27/25.

Poured into a weizen glass. Pours a lightly hazy, light to medium golden amber with a fine, three finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of wheat, clove, lemon and a touch of banana. Flavor follows, with lightly grainy wheat malt, clove, banana and lemon; lingering light banana in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. A quite solid hefeweizen, hitting on all cylinders in style character. The malt is fine and nice balance of clove and banana; perhaps a little on the banana side, but worked well for me. Great mouth feel. One of the best domestic hefes I've had, nicely done.
