Dark coppery brown with beige foam in the Orval chalice. Inviting spicy aroma with roasted grain and sweet apples in the nose. Sweet and nutty with a pleasant hoppy edge. Warm and malty with a big roasted taste. Flavors of cinnamon, somehow, with walnut, chestnut, and hard candy. Not overly sweet in spite of the sugar, with a bit of leafy hop taste. Quite a flavorful mouthful, and a very nice strong sipping brew. This would be the ideal Christmas beer. From the 32 oz crowler can filled at the brewery restaurant in Bellingham.
