Tasted this beer at the Head of Steam pub, Euston Station London.
A: in a half-pint glass it pours a chestnut brown colour, with a negligible rimmed beer head and very fine carbonation.
S: lightly sweetish dates, toffee, nutty, with a tinge of underlying note of longan-fruit tea and soft hop aroma.
T: the nutty flavour is assertive upfront, underscored by intensifying fruity hoppyness, lighty burned sugar and slightly sour, hayish hoppyness at the back. The finish has a quite clean mouthfeel and lingering nutty maltiness, while remaining lightly bitter.
M&D: quite soft throughout, the mouthfeel is slightly flat vis-a-vis the flavour... I think this bitter can be more flavoursome when fresher, and certainly can use a bit more assertive hops to make it more like a bitter.

Sampled at FAB Fest, Miami Beach, last weekend (notes taken).
Reddish-brown with a slightly malty aroma, little head as it was on gravity dispense. Taste was quite distinctively nutty, though hop characteristics and a touch of vine fruit balanced it well after the initial sip. Unusual. I rated this quite highly, though maybe it's not totally true to style.
