Tasted by a half-pint at the Euston Flyer, London. This ale is part of the Whippet Series, btw.
A: dark tawny colour with brown-ish hues, coming with low carbonation and no beer head at all.
S: sour-sweet, peary-fruity as well as caramely maltiness backed by nuttiness, but overall the note is pretty muted.
T: fruity undernote behind caramely malts, accompanied by earthy & chewy tea-leafy bitterness; the semi-lingering aftertaste of hops sadly adds not much more flavour to the overall quiet scene.
M&D: the texture is slightly flat, although the bitterness does provide some compensation. Not absolutely on form, and 1.55 pounds for a half is simply not justified. One gotta try it fresher in a less expensive place.
