Named after an old car: a picture of which is on the pump clip.
Hand pulled pint into a UK sleeve during a beer festival at ‘The Crown Inn’, Oakengates, one of 34 cask ales on hand pulls.
Lovely amber body, clear and calm, on top an off white head; thinning all the time.
Amazing caramel and toffee aromas, also hints of honey in there too.
The taste follows the smell to the letter. I had this beer on three consecutive evenings and it was interesting how the beer changed each time. It wasn’t harsh to start with but it got smoother and softer as it grew older, the hops retreating somewhat, or so it seemed to me. The beer was altogether mellower by the third tasting.
I am not a big fan of this brewery to be honest, but this beer hit the spot for me in every way, almost perfect: I like the sweeter brews.
