Pours a very dark brown (near black) with a dense khaki head that leaves a good film on the top for the entire drink and some lacing. Nose is...just like a good Belgian dubbel. Odd for a porter, but smells good with lots of burnt sugars and sweet roasted barley. Taste is also more like a dubbel than a porter...residual sweetness, dark fruits, coffee, burnt sugars. Overall, a very interesting and tasty brew, although not what I was expecting.
