Our Clover Honey Ale has become an annual tradition at the Open Gate Brewery. Always returning around St. Patrick's Day, this golden ale is brewed using local honey from Apex Bee Company located on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Honey is a simple sugar, meaning it is fully fermented by our yeast. The result is a dry, quenching beer with just a touch of lingering sweetness on the palate.

Had on tap. Crystal clear golden body with a white foam cap. Honey and golden ale yeast aromas dominate, some sweet malt underneath faintly. Taste again is led by honey and golden ale yeast, but now has floral and lemon esters joining with an airy yeast. Lighter bodied and clean, very easy drinking. Would never have guessed this was 7% abv as it seems so much smaller in mass
