A collaboration beer with world class brewer and Advanced Cicerone, Taylor Donner. A black kolsch brewed with hibiscus flowers, Barbe Rouge and Wakatu hops. The aroma is a subtle mix of dark chocolate, black currant and underneath it all, tangy hibiscus. The flavor brings it all together, with a light roastiness that is complimented by mid-pallate flavors of mulberry and cacao. The hibiscus and lime flavors steer the overall taste in a distinctly more tangy direction, and brings a balancing lightness to the dark.

Pours a blackish tan (under dim lights) with an interesting nose and flavor. I found it floral in a familiar sense—from the kolsh—as well as a more engaging way from the added hibiscus. Light roasty notes on the finish lend it even more complexity.
