A not-too-common beer style, the biere de mars is known as a French/Belgian farmhouse ale, but with a focus on the malt more than the yeast or hops. The biggest difference between this and the French Biere de Garde is that this beer usually occurs as a spring seasonal, and is not considered a "beer for keeping". Bloom & Doom is brewed with Munich and Pilsner malts, heritage grain wheat and brewers rye flakes. This is hopped only modestly with Alsatian Aramis and Strisselspalt hops, which lend a balancing bitterness but nothing more. Look for notes of baked bread, cherry blossom, and red plum.
