A tribute to our many surrounding lake communities in Denville, Rockaway & Mountain Lakes, the Lakeside is our lazy day session IPA.

I'm honored to post the first review of a beer from this brewery. Pint pour on draught. It pours a hazy, honey-amber color with almost a finger of creamy, bright white head and soapy lacing. The smell is subdued with notes of caramel malt, lemon, grapefruit, and a whiff of onion. Its taste is malt-forward but unlike the Southeastern variant it's dry and crackery. The citrus is rather mellow with modest lemon peel and grapefruit rind. The hop bitterness is mild throughout. Its mouth feel is lite and fairly crisp with appropriate carbonation, and it's very drinkable at 5.7% ABV. Overall, Lakeside is an interesting take on the WCIPA insofar as it doesn't boast the classic, bitter citrus taste and the malt base isn't heavy and sweet. I'd like to see more pronounced bitter citrus from the hop bill and some piney notes.
