DATE: January 1, 2026... OCCASION: last of the three CFP bowl games, with a free Friday looming... GLASSWARE: Samuel Smith pint... a dark orange-brown body densely opaque and reminiscent of iced tea... its suds are similarly iced tea-like in appearance... having trouble picking up the aroma here--some confectioner's sugar, some baked bread, with lemon, graham cracker, and, yes, tea... its body is smooth and easy-drinking, almost belying its nearly 7% ABV... a quick finish and a slick move through the mouth make this not quite a rewarding sipper.... its flavor has hints of sugar, dough, lemon, brown ale, and tea... not one I will seek out again... the payout isn't close to the classic film...
