Flanagan’s Red is a smooth, balanced ale with a rich malt profile and a hint of caramel sweetness.

Pint on draught at the brewery. Served in a tulip glass. It pours a honey-rose color with a modest, light-khaki cap and thin sheen of lacing. The smell is basically sweet malt and caramel. The taste opens that way with bready malt and caramel sweetness that overwhelmed by a charred, nutty, bitterness - particularly at the finish. This ale is well-bodied with pleasant carbonation and with an ABV of 6% it is very drinkable. Overall, Flanagan's Red seems overly bitter for the style. I don't know whether or not that is the intent.
