cool hazy using barbe rouge hops and citra, this little brewery is deploying some uncommon hops and im all about it, no simcoe or mosaic to be found in this one, love it! relatively dense looking, a touch heavy to drink texturally, even though the flavors are somewhat more delicate, this isnt biting or green or overly dry hopped, its quite well done, just has a lot of starchy body and grain weight to it, carbonation may sag slightly but the hop profile easily makes up for those minor imperfections, at least for me. i love barbe rouge, red fruits and distinctly non citrusy characteristics, and it is identifiable in aroma and flavor here, this is fresh, well hopped, and unique because of this combination, citra playing where i often reckon it plays best, in a support role. lemon curd meets strawberry, red currant meets lemongrass, sweet fruit meets earthy herbaceous character, this is punchy and different, and there is a decent bit of grain in support, not sloppy but bigger feeling for what it is. some dankness, oils, low bitterness, and definitely cool character from the barbe rouge. like all their beer its clever and just a tad amateurish, but in a flattering way. they are making some boundary pushing beers in here, very much under the radar, but this was such a cool brewery visit! not to be missed if you like weird beer!
