Very dark purple opaque pour, not much lacing. Weak aroma mostly of fruit and sugar. Flavor is aggressively fruity with tons of lactose and sweet smoothness, and some mild hop character behind. For the level of fruit and sugar, it ends up surprisingly balanced, and is quite refreshing in a sort of fruit punch way. Mouthfeel is extremely soft and coating, enhancing the sugar and berry flavors.
Overall, a shockingly enjoyable beer. I normally hate milkshake IPAs but this one felt like a much more balanced pastry sour with a powerful malt and hop backbone. Delicious.
