Very dark chestnut.
Sweet hop and malt aroma which is then reflected by its taste.
Some fruitiness and good bitter finish to balance the malt.
Wonderfully conditioned cask ale from JDW's.

Tasted by half-pint at my local JDW pub, the Half Moon, East End London. Not on form, which I have to stress first.
A: dark amber to copperish hue, no beer head detected; pretty static body.
S: faint maltiness, nutty(?), plus faint fruitiness like semi-ripe plums--nothing else that my nose could sense.
T: nutty-sweetness, on top of a slightly caramely malty backbone, which a very faint suggestion of fruity flavour stays behind. Very simplistic, showing no structure at all.
M&D: easy-drinking and light-bodied, yet the smooth texture is obtained at the expense of little input from healthy carbonation. It doesn't take an expert to see that it's not on form, but I review whichever real ale in whatever condition as and when I taste it, to keep honest records, that is. Gotta try this beer again soon!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
