Ebony brownish-black body that lets a bit of light through, but not much. The head is dark, latte-colored, small, bubbly, and frail. Lovely milk chocolate and toasted marshmallow aromas pour out of this beer, tugging along malted milk, raisins, and loads of butterscotch and caramel. Sweetly tempting. Massively chocolatey to the taste, redolent of fudge, mocha, truffles, and Dairy Milk. Delightfully nutty and biscuity as well: walnuts and shortbread cookies provide a buttery base. Nuances of hazelnut, coconut, and marzipan emerge as it warms. The finish features cameos by bitter, citric hops and espresso; it is fairly dry in the end, but otherwise quite soft, slick, and oily. Delicious, full-flavored, and balanced on all counts.
