A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of March 2012. The label describes this as a spring ale with a combination of spices that deliver a hot cross bun flavour.
Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. A deep brownish-amber hue with medium carbonation. Produces a small light-tan head of frothy foam. A distinctive sweet and spicy aroma dominated by orange peel and cinnamon.
Tastes overwhelmingly sweet and spicy. Malt isn't really discernible. Orange peel and cinnamon abound, with faint hints of cloves and raisins. A dry bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth, leaving the palate rather dry. Strong aftertaste of orange and spice.
An unconventional ale that defies classification - the closest style might be a Christmas ale. It's pretty good; purists might not like it but the distinctive spicy flavour is a decent approximation of a hot cross bun. A nice beer to celebrate Easter.

This beer is brewed for the Morrisons Supermarket chain by Titanic and is going to be released around Easter (hence the Hot Cross Bun type name).
The beer is brewed with spices and sultana flavours?
The clear glass bottle containing 500ml of beer was poured into an 'Old Speckled Hen' vase shaped pint glass.
An off white head sat on top of a reddy hued amber body, clear and bright looking.
The aroma is very interesting, peppery, cinnamon and hints of treacle.
The tase follows along nicely, cinnamon and peppery, with an undercurrent of sweeter molasses/treacle and some mace added for some reason.
I found this both interesting and different, really enjoyed it and very good value.
