A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of Aug 2012. The label states that the fresh hops in this beer were added within 24 hours of harvesting.
Poured into a Guinness pint glass. A clear golden-amber hue with plentiful, well-distributed carbonation. Yields a frothy white head that disappears rapidly. Aroma of sweet crystal malt with leafy hops, undertones of stewed bittering hops and a hint of diacetyl.
Tastes of light, grainy malt with a solid bitter finish. Hoppy notes are discernible, with a green 'plant' undertone. A subtle hint of butteriness. Significant bitter stewed hops upon swallowing, but no excessive harshness. Mouthfeel is smooth and quite astringent, leaving the palate dry. A bitter hop aftertaste.
A decent ale with a nice bitter character. Not as aromatic as I expected, but I'm not sure what hop variety was used. The bitterness is good - the balance between malt and hops is well judged. Worth sampling; I'd have it again if I came across it.

Clear 500ml bottle, best before 25 Aug 2011, drank and reviewed on 03 Nov 2010. Poured into an 'Abbot Ale' glass tankard.
Orange or light amber in colour, thin white head with plenty of carbonisation visible as well as in the mouthfeel.
The seasons first hops are used to produce this beer and you can certainly smell fresh hops in the aroma given off.
The taste is also a full on hoppy flavour although a semi-sweet malt finish counters the hop bitterness that doesn't really take over completely.
Morrisons (a supermarket chain) and Titanic have an arrangement to produce and sell seasonal brews. It works very well and helps to keep the price sensible too.
