Growler filled at the brewpub.

First pint glass pours with a 1" beige head, over the slightly cloudy orangey amber brew. Pillowy head lasts nicely, with sporadic but lasting lacing. Aroma is malty and fruity. Taste is grain husks and sweet maltiness upfront, some zingy fruit in the middle, and a lightly hoppy close. Mouthfeel is soft and easy, and drinkability is excellent. Excellent seasonal offering here, hurry, before it's gone...

A new octoberfest for me this season.

The color and appearance were typical for the style.

Aroma was definately octoberfest-y, but more subdued than others I've had this year.

Taste was good, but definately more subtle than the BBC or Spaten that are out there now. Perhaps because it is an ale.

Good mouthfeel and a prime candidate to have a few of on an Autumn evening.

This one is a very interesting take on the O'Fest style. First of all, not a traditional Oktoberfest, as this one is an ale, not a lager. Nonetheless, a real winner. A bit darker than most O'Fests. Nice malt aroma, with a bit of a smoke presence. The taste is very complex, with lots of overtones, but in the end the malt wins out, as it should. Mouthfeel is nice and smooth. Could be a session, but there are so many other high quality C'House brews and guest brews (my current faves are the BBC O'Fest & Black and Tan); you must savor a bunch of the others. Keep up the good work Dave!!

Draught @ Cambridge House: This one pours a mostly orangish dark amber color. There was a very small off white head on mine. The nose is quite nice. There is some nuttiness, fall spices and malts in there. The taste is equally good. The body is good, and there is a very good blend of the spices, malts and hops to make a very drinkable beer. There is a slight sweetness and roastiness in there also. Another winner for Steve and Dave. Hopefully ther will take this one to the GABF next year!

A - this CBH offering arrives a dark orange-ish/brownish, with a thin tan head, there was no visible carbonation

S - this beer has typical Oktoberfest aromas, those great roasted malty, nutty aromas. There is a low, but present hop profile, which creates a nice complex layered aroma

T - this beer is sweeter than i expected, there are the translated roasted flavors from the aroma, with a great wheaty maltiness as well. a great complex flavor, and there is a hint of a pumpkin-y aftertaste, very well blended flavors

M&D - the complex and layered flavors create a nicely smooth feel that leads to a higher than average drinkability, a great brew, CBH keeps there esteem
