Pours with a slightly orange color and a newsprint colored white head that has great lacing and retention. Clarity seems to be good but it's hard to tell in the dark bar.
The aroma is solid with some grassy, citrusy orange hop notes. The strength is about where you would expect for a typical APA. The flavor has good hop presence with a solid bitterness and hop flavor. The fruity, orange peel flavor is back from the nose, along with a little bit of wood. Malt presence is very light and only adds some sweetness.
The body is where you would expect for a pale ale. Medium bodied with good carbonation. A little more carbonation could have helped the aroma, but for mouthfeel purposes it feels just right. This was as easy drinking as most pale ales, so it has good drinkability. I don't think I've ever rated any beer with straight fours, but it seems right for this beer. I like the IPA better, but I was glad that CBH gave the option of a regular strength pale.

Draught @ Granby Brewpub: This one pours a clear, coppery color. There was a small off-white head on it, and it left no lacing. The aroma is good. It is predominately earthy hops with a hint of pine. The taste is good. Nicely balanced, and a touch dry. It was somewhat bitter. Biscuity, some malts (but no sweetness) and earthy. Very nice and easy drinking.
