Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a fairly clear dark brown color. There was a bit of a tan head on it that left some lacing. it has a nice nose. Some chocolate and roastiness. Also get some citrus and pine hops. the taste is also very good. Medium bodied. Fairly good citrus hop bite to it. Some chocolate and roastiness also. A really good Black IPA!

Growler provided by the other Matt along with the English IPA from the same place. Thanks.
Beer is dark brown / black with an off white head of small bubbles, bad retention, no lacing.
Aroma is like a hoppy porter, mildly sweet in the nose with some piny hops. Smells fine, some earth.
Beer is a little thin and has this oddly oxidized note to it, almost a background flavor of cardboard but the hops still shine through. It's thinner than I expected, mild roast at the end and the hop bitterness fights a little but the are relatively harmonious. Not a great beer by any means but it wasn't as bad as the other IPA.

Thanks to Huhzubendah for getting this growler down our way for a nice Friday evening tasting. Good hiss when it opened; always a good sign. Served in a Captain Lawrence tulip.
Pours a very dark brown with a good off-white head and some really nice retention. Pretty good lacing as well. The nose has a bit of faint piney hops along with a touch of roast. Slight cardboard character there as well. The hop flavor is rather subdued and hides behind just a bit of roast. Mild pine and a bit of earth. Mouthfeel is light to medium with moderate carbonation. Nothing seriously wrong with this, but nothing really stands out, either. Fairly average for the style, unfortunately, as the two growlers we got from them were highly anticipated.

Growler graciously sent to me by hobbie100. Thanks Richard.
The beer is dark brown with a thin layer of beige head. The aroma brings a combination of roast and English style hops. The flavor consists of light coffee, roasted malt, bitter hops, mild chocolate. The feel is medium bodied, with a lasting, dry bitterness. English hops are really prevalent throughout both the aroma and flavor, a bit too much so for my liking. Overall, a decent beer.
