Screw-top growler filled at the brewpub.
First imperial pint pours with a 1/4" light brown head, over the almost opaque dark brown brew. Head is short-lived, with leggy fleeting lace. Aroma is rich dark malts with coffee notes.
Taste is pretty much coffee from beginning to end, with sweetness doing battle at the start, and fading towards the close. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth, maybe a bit thin, and drinkability is easy. Not bad.

Draught at CBH: This one pours a clear, dark brown color. It has a small tan head on it that doesn’t linger long and leaves some lacing. Milder aroma. Some roastiness, chocolate and maybe some earthy hops. The taste is good. Roasty, chocolate with a hint of coffee. Dry taste, with no sweetness at all. Very smooth. Nice!
