The robust hop flavors are not in your face, allowing the yeasty flavors to open up as the alcohol warms your gullet. Moderate bitterness of the hops, which blends with the dry edge and bitterness of the yeast. Wonderful fruity taste that defies immediate categorization. Hops are the "2021 Ales for ALS Hop Blend #2."

Pours a handsome clear amber with abundant white foam in the Orval chalice. Overall this is a really interesting Belgian-style brew. Quite sippable as a nightcap and hot like a liqueur. I would be delighted to try other experiments with this Strong Pale Ale plus hops style. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station.

16oz can (dated Batch #387) poured into 16oz tulip. Poured a lightly hazy honey gold color with 3/4 inch of white head that good retention and light-moderate lacing.

Estery yeast and lightly citrusy hops were about equal at the front of the nose, with the hops taking over after a few moments. There a sweetish malt base as well.

On the tongue, all of that played out about the same, but there was a definite alcohol component that i didn't pick up in the nose as well.

The body was on the fuller side, maybe a bit thicker than a Tripel, smooth, and had a sweet finish, but also had heat lingering.

Drinkabilty was good, but I doubt I'd have more than 1 in a sitting.

Overall, a nice enough brew, maybe not one to run right out and find, but worth a shot if the combo of Belgian yeasts and American hops is interesting to you.
