By the time I rolled into Shred the evening had already beaten me senseless with lagers and finished the job with Moksa’s tar black stouts. My tongue was numb, my vision questionable, and the only remaining treatment was the nuclear option.
IPAs.
The whole wall of them. Hazies, clears, bitter pine grenades and cloudy citrus napalm. At that stage distinctions are academic. You are not tasting beer anymore. You are submitting to it.
The first pint cracked across the palate like a riding crop. Resin and grapefruit screaming through the sinuses. The second was worse. The third had me nodding quietly to the glass like a man who has accepted his place in the hierarchy.
Sometimes a person who spends his life pretending to be in control needs a proper disciplinary session. The pint sits there waiting. You lean in and whisper yes mistress while another wave of hops thrashes your tongue into submission.
Outside the night waited patiently.
Inside, the hops kept swinging.

Stopped by early afternoon on a Sunday on our way down the hill. Very nice modern taproom tucked into a business park. Plenty of seating inside, plus out on the patio. Love that they've got a couple pinball machines available. Our bartender was super friendly, made sure we were well taken care of, and was able to smoothly work through the rush of folks that all happened to show up around the same time. The tap list is definitely hop focused, but with plenty of other options, from a lager to a couple of pills, a coffee stout, and even a fruity seltzer. Everything we tried was fantastic. They've only been open for a little under 2 years, but it's clear why they're already racking up the awards. Definitely on my list of favorite spots right now. Can't wait to come back.
