A gimmick, a Mexican-style brew in Canada. Highly carbonated, with some malts and bitter hops. Ginger ale type beer. They suggest drinking with a lime, and that would add flavour. Passable on a hot summer day instead of just 10 glasses of water. Unoffensive.

Gotta say I approached this one with some trepidation. I figured that a Mexican style beer meant an attempt to clone Corona or Sol or some such. The label even recommends the use of the obligatory lime. I'm not sure that as a brewer I'd pick that as an objective.
From it's appearance, it looked like we were headed that way. Pale yellow, with a short brittle head that vamoosed straight away.
Got a pleasant surprise, though, when I held up the glass for a sniff. No skunkiness or any of those things you'd normally associate with a Mexican macro. Rather, some good fresh crisp hops and a whiff of clove spice, which was totally unexpected.
The taste is of dry, nicely bitter hops with the same unexpected touch of spice and a touch of doughiness. Gives a lingering bitterness. The mouthfeel is reminiscent of a dry white wine.
Not what I expected and overall a pretty decent effort that could find a few fans. I think I'll pick up another to share around.
