Their brew with the most potential. I am rating the existing recipe, bitter UK style which he toned down. Darker would really earn points instead of another lager.
had an advance on the new recipe and wish he could keep it closer to that - unfiltered yeast, cloudy yellow, yeasty . Mid-sip grapefruit and bitter afterbite. It would be a hybrid UK-Belgium experiment. And bottle condition. Why not? If it works, I can ship this to me trading mates. But I'm sure he will tone it down

This brew purports to be an "xxtra" version of the house lager xxtra hops, xxtra malt, xxtra aging, xxcetera.
Doesn't quite turn out that way. It's a decent enough beer, but doesn't give up all the xxtras promised.
Colour is true gold, with short-lived moderate soapy white head. Aroma is a good balance of hops and malt, but without the sparkle and liveliness of some of their other beers. Clean, but just average.
Similar balance in the taste. Slight hop after bite. MJouthfeel unremarkable.
Better than your average macro, but not one of my favorites from Robinson's.
