Tasty treat. I think they have strengthened the formula from previous years. This brewery concentrates on sweet things and is brewing cake with beer, ice cream with beer. That's its target niche. This brew is carmelized malt. There's good carbonization here. Its better than a national brand. Crisp

Deep red-brown colour, moderate head. Decent enough looking beer.
However, not much to it after that. Watery mouthfeel. Sweetish smell, lots of malt, just a touch of hops. Not particularly distinctive.
Tried this after seeing one of those little advertising tents sitting on the table flogging ice cream made with this beer (!). I'll have to go back one day to try out the ice cream, but I think I'll be giving one of the other beers on the menu a try.

Red Leaf: Deep brown colored beer, little head but lots of Canadian lace. Cider like aroma, with a hint of coffee and cinnamon. Very high levels of malt, with a tiny hint of hops. This had a bad stale bread taste and aroma. Uggh, awful as it warmed up, and the aroma seemed to get worse as well, with moldy bread aroma. Bad.

Pours with too big of a foamy head. Overall a little light on the aroma, but seems a mixed hops and malt. Color is a reddish brown and clear. Flavor is really quite smooth with a nice balance of malt then hops, but neither dominating. Slight dry bitterness at the finish that is pleasing. Meduim to lighter mouthfeel that lends to the smoothness, yet carbonation still noticable. This is a drinkable beer and I have enjoyed it before and can see myself buying it again, especially because it is a little cheaper than beers that don't taste as good.
