Kronenhof Dunkel
Bad Homburger Brauhaus Graf Zeppelin (Hofgut Kronenhof)

This Dunkel poured a cloudy, deep brown color with hints of red, with light brown foam that settled slowly. The smell was malty with a touch of vinous Munich malt aroma. There was a light fruitiness in the nose, as well as a touch of hoppiness. The taste was richly malty with some Munich malt fruitiness. There was also a bit of caramel and cocoa, and there was good hoppiness to balance the malt flavors. The mouthfeel was dry and crisp with medium to medium-full body and good carbonation. The malty flavors lingered nicely. This was a very nice beer, though the unfiltered nature was a bit of a surprise.
