I had this beer on-tap in a jelly jar at the brewery in Longview.
Appearance: rich golden hue with a totally clear body and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: sweet malt with a light orchardy pear-apple character (though not cidery). It’s nice.
Taste: rather sweet malt with some of that orchardy character from the aroma, but also a little bit of a cidery note. There’s also a fair boozy heat. It’s not bad at all — but it’s not the best tripel in the world.
Mouthfeel: nicely rich body with a good carbonation and lovely creaminess.
Overall: a good tripel, but maybe just a bit too boozy.
