Danevang Julewit is a Belgian-inspired wheat beer. Julewit is a light and fresh beer. The taste is round with a hint of sweetness that, in balance with the citrus notes, rounds off the experience to perfection.
A Julewit beer can be enjoyed with or without candles and Christmas hawthorn.
Brewed and developed at Skanderborg Bryghus in collaboration with North Retail ApS.

Copenhagen 21/12 2021. 50 cl bottle from Føtex, Mimersgade, Kbh. N. Blue version of the Danevang brand design with a grumpy Bear apparently celebrating Christmas as poster animal.
Pours unclear, pale yellow with a big, dense white head. A bit bubbly, Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with an odor of wheat mingling with yeast and a bit of spices. Wheat malts, citrus and oranges. Coriander and cloves.
Strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a more moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is a bit bitter. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
Decent take on a Witbier although on the sweet side. But it is Christmas after all.
