The County of Frijsenborg was established in 1672. For generations, the red squirrel has adorned the family's coat of arms and has become a symbol of Frijsenborg.
Frijsenborg Julebryg Pale Lager is a fresh alternative to the otherwise heavy Christmas beers. Julebryg has the lightness of a pilsner with a little Christmas magic.

Copenhagen 12/11 2020. 50 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen, Brønshøj Torv, Brønshøj. Transparent label with Frijsenborg's coat of arms and a little green shield with a golden squirrel.
Pours slightly unclear, golden amber with a mid-sized white head. Bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a strong sharp, sour smell. Sweet pale malts, cardboard and caramel. Sour grains and acetone.
Fairly strong carbonation. Thin, oily, greasy, tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger, harsh bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Finish is dry.
Not exactly a very Christmas-inspired beer. But Hell - it's Christmas soon so let's put a Christmas label on our pale lager beer.
