Copenhagen 15/9 2020. 50 cl bottle from Føtex, BIG shopping center, Herlev. Drawing of a boat plowing through waters done poster art style from the fifties on the label. Apparently a part of a IPA competition launched by the Danish beer drinker association.
Pours unclear amber with a medium-sized yellow-ish head. Settles as thin almost transparent layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty odor mingling with a very light sourness. Caramel and sweet malts. Light touch of smoke.
Fairly strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger, harsh bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
Not the most convincing take on an English India Pale Ale. But not without a decent bitter bite.
