With roots in San Francisco, this lager is characterized by fine caramel notes, a hint of citrus and an amber-gold color. With the addition of star anise, it is a taste experience of the finest.

Copenhagen 18/6 2020. 33 cl bottle from Vild med Vin web-shop. Simple red and snow-covered label stating the name of the beer and quoting a Danish Christmas Carol.
Pours dark amber with a medium-sized, bubbly white head. Quite light for af Dark Lager. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a medium strong, malty sweetness, light fruity odor and a little metallic odor peeking in. Caramel, toffee. Apple juice. Tin foil.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively, tingling texture.
Flavor is moderately intense and a bit thin. Medium strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet-ish and thin. Lingers shortly.
Pretty light for a Christmas seasonal. I miss a bit of intensity but I am doing quite fine without the heavy Christmas spices.
