Poured from the can into a nonic(k) glass.
Beautiful copper red body, hinting brown rust like edges and touches of faint amber orange colors. Light carbonation reaching to a plentiful two to three finger tall soaped up head. Topped with the lightest khaki tinge and a small crowned puck makes for a real nice look.
Crackery like malt, with light touches of caramel sweetness on the nose. Hits just a little faint fruit maybe even some licorice strangely on the aroma? Fairly solid here.
Palate keeps the ball rolling. More hinting unexpected bitterness on the palate but in a good way. Faint hiting caramel sweetness at first, then a bit of bread dough. More hop forward than expected with tea like hop flavors, and a bit of biting astringency that kind of ramps up on the swallow. Still crackery malt that with the bitting hop makes a bit of pop and crackle like mouthfeel. Lingers a bit tannic and dry.
Fairly decent, but with a bit of excessive bitterness that's at least tolerable. Solid amber.
